Redevelopment of the Garbutt Depot for Ergon Energy
AGC won the contract for the Garbutt Depot Stage 2 redevelopment project in November 2016. This project was separated into 3 stages to allow Ergon to continue operations throughout the construction.
The project included the demolition of existing buildings including storage tanks, bunded areas and wash down bays. Building 3 underwent a major refurbishment of a typical office construction such as video conferencing rooms, workstations, FFE, lift installations and additional mezzanine extensions.
Construction of a new oil handling facility including tanks and pump installation occurred. External civil works including heavy and light fleet car parking, roadways, new wash down bay facility incorporating a vehicle underbody wash.
Although the project was situated within close proximity to our head office in Townsville, we positioned a Project Manager/ Engineer and project team full time on site. This allowed direct communication with easy access to the project team and aided to form a strong working relationship between the client and contractor.
AGC have supported our client through additional requirements to the original tendered project ensuring the final project excels in their expectations. This maybe through recommended alternative products to ensure the longevity of the materials and products used.
