Burdell Childcare Centre

CONTRACT BUILD - $1.8million

The work comprises of the construction of a new Childcare and Family Centre in the suburb of Burdell. The construction of the buildings generally include block work, with timber & block work internal partitions & timber roof trusses with Colorbond Roof sheeting.

The facility required a high quality and vibrant finish, including landscaping and feature play equipment to the external of the building. There was also a requirement to construct a 35 bay carpark with two driveways to enable effective traffic management on the premises. An extra bay is included within the carpark for services.

The outdoor playground area was appealing and attractive within the surrounding residential environment through the array of different vibrant colours and the use of attractive building materials.

The activity rooms provide toddlers and children with large air-conditioned rooms combined with ceiling fans for their comfort in the tropical climate.  The rooms are light and bright with an excellent airflow combining the fans and windows which are able to be opened.  There is a mix of furniture options including social seating and tables, booths with tables, whiteboards and LCD screens which provide the children with an advantageous area to conduct group-work and a mix of activities.

The Outdoor Playground areas had been constructed to celebrate the dry tropical environment and provide appropriate shade and furniture to support structured activities and age appropriate social gatherings between peers. The incorporation of timber seating around the outdoor learning and play areas portray a modern and smart architectural design;  perfect for a safe and interesting play area.
